Reading lists in Draft mode have a banner indicating their status. A list is not visible to students until it is published.
When you have finished building your list, select 'Publish my list'. This will make the list visible to students and send the list for library review at the same time. Library staff will contact you when the review is complete.
Publishing a reading list will trigger a library review of your reading list. Library staff will check every citation to ensure sufficient resources are in place to meet student demand. We will take the following criteria into account:
Size of class
Importance of title (Essential/Recommended/Further Reading)
Past borrowing statistics
We will purchase new or additional copies to meet student demand
We will assign appropriate loan periods to print copies to meet student demand (Short Loan, 1 Week Loan etc).
We will monitor reservation requests and take action if demand is high.
We will check all links on a list to ensure they work. If broken, we will fix it for you or contact you by email if it can't be fixed.
We will perform a copyright check to ensure compliance with Copyright Licensing Agency rules. We will suggest alternative options to avoid copyright infringement.
Citations added to a published reading list will automatically be sent for library review.
Citations added to a draft reading list are not sent for library review. The library review is triggered when the list is published. If you would like Library staff to review your reading list before it is published please contact us.
