Reading Lists @ Strathclyde (Staff): About the service

Option 1: Build your own reading list with support from library staff

Follow the instructions in the Reading List Handbook to start building your list. You may wish to attend a training session to help you get started.

 

Reading lists created/amended by academic staff will be treated as High Priority and Library staff will endeavor to complete checks within 5 days.

Option 2: Ask Library staff to build the reading list

If you would like Library staff to build your reading list please submit it within these designated deadlines:

Date of commencement of programme Date to submit reading list
August 2023 10th July 2023
September 2023 7th August 2023
January 2024 20th November 2023

Lists submitted after this will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. While every effort will be made to have lists ready for the start of teaching it will not be possible to guarantee that lists received after the deadline will be completed for week one of teaching. 

Send your reading list information to the Reading List Service email account.

Reading lists to be created/amended by Library staff will be treated as Medium Priority. 

Reading List Service Policy

The University Library is committed to working with teaching staff to identify and provide resources which support teaching and learning. 

  • Teaching staff should ensure reading lists are available and updated regularly.
  • Teaching staff should comply with the terms of the University CLA Licence.
  • Library staff will manage the service on behalf of staff and students, including integration with MyPlace and the rollover of reading lists each academic year.
  • Library staff will engage with teaching staff to encourage the creation of reading lists. Training sessions and support will be offered throughout the year.
  • Library staff will review reading list content, purchase resources, fix broken links and offer advice where necessary.
