Gaelic Medium Education: Distance learning support

Borrowing books from the Andersonian Library

Our library guide for distance learning students gives details of the number of books which you can borrow from the library and links to useful information including our opening hours.

Our postal loans service may be of interest if you are not able to get to the Andersonian Library in person.

Using other libraries

If you are not based in Glasgow you may find it easier to visit other university libraries. A scheme called Sconul Access allows part-time and distance learning students to borrow books from other university libraries in the UK and Ireland. Information about this scheme and links to register are available on our library website.

Local public libraries may have collections of materials in the Gaelic language. An interactive map of public libraries in Scotland is available on the Scottish Library and Information Council website
