An eBook is an electronic version of a book you can read on your computer or mobile device.
The Library has an electronic preference policy which means we will purchase both electronic and print versions of books where possible. There are some instances where an eBook version of a book will not be available (see Common Questions for more details). The Library currently provides access to more than 1 million eBooks, including textbooks, reference works and research monographs. The Library purchases eBooks from a number of different providers (see eBook platforms and suppliers for more details)

How do I access and view the content of eBooks?
Most eBooks are subscription based, so once you follow the links from SUPrimo or your Reading List, you will need to login with your University of Strathclyde DS username and password to view the full content.
Most eBooks give you full-text access online, but restrict the amount you can print or download in accordance with UK copyright.
Different eBook platforms and providers have different access models (e.g. you may be placed in a queue if the number of concurrent users has reached our subscription limit)
A small number of eBooks are published as Open Access, meaning they are freely available to view online.
