This page provides information and updates on any known access problems or planned maintenance affecting our library electronic resources (eBooks, eJournals and databases).  For information on the status of IT systems and services, please follow the below link to the IT Service Status page.

Ongoing Library eResource issues

ProQuest products SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: ProQuest will be performing maintenance on many of their products on Sunday 31st January 2021 3.00 - 11.00am  UK time.  Many ProQuest products will be unavailable at this time.  Further information can be found at . MAINTENANCE 31-01-2021
ASTM compass There is currently a problem with the Federated Shibboleth sign-in (Academic Access sign-in) on ASTM Compass.  The issue has been reported to our provider.  In the meantime, please access ASTM Compass via records in the A-Z Database list or SUPrimo, where an alternative access method is in place. 14-01-2021
Australian Education Index (ProQuest) We are currently experiencing problems accessing the Australian Education Index on the ProQuest platform. This has been reported to ProQuest 11-01-2021
Gale Academic OneFile We are aware of a problem affecting SUPrimo record links to content on the Gale Academic OneFile database from off-campus.  The issue may also affect SUPrimo record links to content on other Gale databases.  The problem is currently being investigated.  In the meantime, if you experience an error when following links to Gale content from SUPrimo records, please use A-Z database list records to access the Gale database you require, and search of browse for the specific content. 05-01-2021
IET eJournals Our IET eJournal access entitlements have changed.  The serials team are currently working to update SUPrimo records to correctly reflect the journals and years which Strathclyde can access.  Please note that we no longer have access to IET journals pre-2013. Brill Reference Works and Primary Sources If off-campus users go directly to Brill Reference Works or Brill Primary Sources and use the 'institutional Login option, the Where Are You From page is displaying as 'not secure' in Firefox or Edge browsers. This has been reported to Brill.  As a workaround, users can either use Chrome browser, or can access our Brill content on these platforms via the SUPrimo catalogue records for the specific titles, which allow off-campus access via a different authentication method. 03-12-2020
Cambridge University Press eBooks and eJournals There is currently a problem with links for Cambridge University Press content from SUPrimo records linking to the homepage and not directly to the title. The publisher is aware of the problem and working on a solution. In the meantime, please search to find the title you require on the Cambridge Core platform. 11-11-2020
ACM Digital Library Please note that the Find it@Strathclyde button is not working correctly on the ACM Digital Library site.  This has been reported to ACM. 24-08-2020
Dawsonera eBooks Following the sad news that Bertram Books (including Dawson Books) has fallen into administration, the Dawsonera eBooks platform is no longer available as of 31st July 2020. The majority of our Dawson eBook titles are now available on the VLeBooks platform. Library staff are working with Askews & Holts to investigate restoring access to a small number of remaining titles.  13-07-2020 [updated 16-11-2020]
Sustainable Organization Library Sustainable Organization Library titles have moved from the Ingenta platform to Taylor & Francis eBooks.  Please search on Taylor & Francis eBooks to find Sustainable Organization Library titles. We are aware that some Sustainable Organization Library titles are missing from the Taylor & Francis platform and we are working with Taylor & Francis to address this, and to update the links in SUPrimo and other library records.  30-04-2020
De Gruyter De Gruyter are working on fixing performance issues on the new platform.  The latest updates from De Gruyter can be viewed on the news section of their site at . 25-03-2020 last updated 06-04-2020
Who Was Who (Oxford University Press) SUPrimo 'Reference Entries' type records for 'Who Was Who' content return Page Not Found error.  This has been reported to provider.  Where these records contain broken links, the resource can instead be accessed via the Who's Who and Who Was Who SUPrimo 'database' record or the A-Z Database record. last updated 16-12-2019
IOP Science platform (Institute of Physics) Web browsers currently display a security warning on the IOP Science platform, warning that parts of the page (such as image) may not be secure. The warning appears when users are authenticated on the site. The error is due to the branding and logo images; however the site connection is secure. Business Monitor International Access to Business Monitor International is now working again.  Apologies for the interruption to access. 05-01-2020
Fame We experienced an interruption to Fame access prior to Christmas. Access has now been reinstated. 05-01-2020
Brill books and journals Certain routes to access Brill eBook and eJournal content may return a website certificate expiry warning (message reads for example 'Your connection is not private' in Chrome, or 'Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead' in Firefox). We believe this issue to be resolved.  If you encounter this message when accessing Brill eBook and eJournal content via any SUPrimo / A-Z records or Reading List records, please report this to the Library.  Please note that if you encounter this warning when following a personal bookmark or link, the problem is likely to be that you are using an outdated URL. Please delete your bookmark and access the content via SUPrimo instead. 18-12-2020
multiple Chrome users were experiencing a warning when accessing various library eResources (and other non-library sites) saying 'The information that you’re about to submit is not secure. Because the site is using a connection that’s not completely secure, your information will be visible to others.' Chrome have rolled back the change which resulted in this message. 16-12-2020
Liverpool University Press eJournals The problem affecting Institutional (Shibboleth) login to Liverpool University Press eJournals has now been fixed. 10-12-2020
