Research Support: Reference Management

Library support and related information for staff and students undertaking research at the University of Strathclyde

Bibliographic Management Software

We provide help and support in using EndNote to manage your references. There are two options available: the free EndNote Online tool, and the full desktop application which is available for discounted purchase via Pegasus. Training courses for EndNote Online and EndNote desktop can be booked online.

Both will enable you to collect, store, and share references while also providing the Cite While You Write tool in MS Word which lets you to insert citations as you write. The desktop application will allow you to modify output styles to match specific publishing requirements, but for standard styles such as Vancouver and Harvard you can make use of the free service.

For help and advice please do contact your Faculty Librarian. Or use the EndNote Online guide, we also have an EndNote Desktop guide.

There are a variety of other, free, reference management tools available such as Zotero and Mendeley, however we cannot guarantee to provide the same level of help and support with these systems.

See our Referencing guide for more information and help.
