As part of the University’s Jubilee celebrations, we’ve helped to create an exciting, interactive oral history trail across campus — and it’s designed for you to explore!
The trail is based on The University Experience oral history project, where back in 2002/03, researchers interviewed students and staff from Strathclyde’s past. Including professors, cleaners, and students studying engineering, science, and the arts, these interviews give a behind-the-scenes look at what Strathclyde was like decades ago.
We’ve picked out some of the best clips and quotes from five interviews that show off Strathclyde’s journey through the years. These soundbites are spread across campus (including at the entrance to the Library), and you can listen to most of them by scanning QR codes at each stop. It’s a great way to learn more about your uni’s history while also exploring new spots around campus!
Ready to dive in? Check out the Oral History Trail map, find the locations, and start your journey through Strathclyde’s past.
